Baby it's cold outside!!!!!!!!

She loves using the hand mixer, I hope someone loves me enough for Valentines Day to get me the Kitchen aide standing mixer I have been begging for (hint hint Garrett)

Note the hot pink and neon green measuring cups (Hannah chose those, go figure)

Well as y'all all know it's been snowing for days now. I have been baking up a storm for my mamma's birthday, she has requested a Twilight cake, yes people she is a little obsessed with this movie/book. She is worse than some teenagers! Well any who, my princess and I got straight to work on the cakes, she loves helping me make cakes from scratch, We decided that nanny needed to have a vanilla bean pound cake.My favorite recipe is by Paula Deen. Hannah loves measuring out all the ingredients, it's her specialty. She asked me today about the vegetable shorting. She said "Momma why won't this come off my fingers under water?' I gradually told her it was very unhealthy but necessary if we wanted a stackable cake. She informed me that we were NOT going to tell nanny because it would make her cry if she knew she was eating bad calories. Funny thing is the child wants to make desserts for a living (last week it was teaching). On with the baking . We mixed all our ingredients and  the four cakes are freezing until tomorrow so I will post pictures when the cake is finished. We also made cupcakes two different kinds plus a mini cake.
The cupcakes on the left are just a Pillsbury mix but we made a butter cream icing mixed in some Duff Goldman icing color and used a star icing tip. Hannah has named them "starburst" The cupcakes on the right are a lemon cake mix by the "The Bag Lady" it was delicious. Westin informed me sense the icing, which is a sour cream icing would be pink the cupcakes would be green , so we added Wilton's Christmas tree green and on to the last touch, we added edible blue glitter to the cupcakes to give them some pizazz!
NOW I don't want y'all to think we kept our kids from all that snow...........

My loving Husband shoveling our cars out in the freezing cold, what would I do without him?

Westin with snow on his face

Poor Hannah, She reminds me of "Alice in Wonderland" she peeked into a hole being curious as to where it went and she fell in to find herself on the other side

The boys with snow men on the left......

They decided to destroy the snowmen. As you can see Cy was upset and crying because he didn' want the snowmen to die. After the other two boys demolished the snowmen and went on to build more forts, Cy came and sit in the snow next to me and said, "momma, I hope you know the snowmen are in a better place now. me; Yeah, Cy; they  live in Heaven with baby Jesus now because he died for everyone to live again. Now I did not have the heart to tell him snowmen don't go to Heaven but, I was so excited that my son was telling me about Heaven and Jesus giving his life. It made me feel like I had done my job in teaching him the right way to live
